Tell Kofi B I’ll join you soon – Dada KD’s 2020 message to late Bernard Nyarko resurfaces after his own death
As earlier reported by MyNewsGh, Ghana’s Highlife fraternity is in mourning following the death of veteran musician Dada Kwaku Duah, popularly known as Dada KD.
The singer reportedly passed away last night, though the exact cause of his death remains unclear at the time of this report.
As tributes pour in from industry players and fans alike, an old statement made by Dada KD in 2020 has resurfaced — a chilling reminder of the deep emotional pain he carried and perhaps, a premonition of his own fate.
In 2020, following the death of actor Bishop Bernard Nyarko and singer Kofi B, Dada KD took to social media to express his heartbreak, revealing just how broken he was by the state of the industry and the repeated loss of close colleagues.
He wrote: “May your gentle soul find you a perfect place to keep you Bishop Bernard Nyarko. My regards to Kofi B and tell him it won’t be long I’ll join you all too soon, our industry sucks.”
The emotional statement, which many at the time brushed off as grief-fueled rhetoric, now takes on a haunting weight in the wake of his own passing.
Dada KD’s words reflected a deep disillusionment with the entertainment industry — one he believed had failed its own.
Social media has since been flooded with posts from fans, fellow musicians, and media personalities expressing shock and sorrow.
Gospel artist Bro. Sammy and popular on-air personalities have also confirmed the singer’s death, marking yet another blow to Ghana’s entertainment scene.
