I didn’t expect it – Serwaa Amihere’s mother recalls a pastor’s prophecy that came true

Years before Ghanaian media personality Serwaa Amihere became a household name, her mother, Mrs. Lydia Tetteh, had received a prophecy at church — one that she believed, but never imagined would unfold so powerfully.
Speaking recently about her daughter’s rise to fame, Mrs. Tetteh recounted how a pastor would often speak words of greatness over her children during church services.
“Whenever I went to church, there is this Pastor who always prophesied that, ‘I see your children going up to be great and travelling from one country to the other.’
“I believed in God, so I always said Amen. But to this extent nu, I didn’t expect it,” she said.
That humble moment of faith has now become part of a larger story — one shaped by years of dedication, hard work, and a clear sense of purpose. Serwaa Amihere, once just a young woman with dreams, has evolved into one of Ghana’s most recognized broadcasters, influencers, and role models.
Serwaa first made her mark in Ghana’s media space as a producer on “State of Affairs” on GHOne TV before transitioning into a prominent on-screen role as a news anchor and host.
Her calm demeanor, polished delivery, and confidence quickly caught the attention of viewers across the country.
Beyond media, Serwaa is also a law graduate from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), having earned a Second-Class Upper degree in 2023.
She previously studied Banking and Finance at Methodist University College and is an alumna of Yaa Asantewaa Girls’ Senior High School.
