MTN Ghana CFO Antoinette Kwofie reveals British actor Papa Isiadou is her half-brother
In a rare personal disclosure during her Personality Profile interview monitred by MyNewsGh, Antoinette Kwofie, Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director of MTN Ghana (Scancom PLC), revealed that British actor Papa Isiadou—who recently featured in the Harry Potter franchise—is her half-brother.
Responding to a question about whether having a brother while growing up might have influenced her journey differently, Kwofie responded thoughtfully, “Maybe, possibly would have. Actually, I have a half-brother. I have half-brothers on my father’s side.”
She continued, “Actually, one of my brothers is a big actor, Papa Isiadou, in the UK. He’s being featured in Harry Potter now.” Her interviewer Lexis Bill, clearly taken by surprise, reacted with enthusiasm: “Wow, that’s awesome.”
Despite having half-brothers, Kwofie noted that she didn’t grow up with them, which significantly shaped her upbringing.
“We learned to be boys. We learned that,” she said with a smile. “So there was no… For me, I think the value in that was there was nothing like a girl’s job and a boy’s job. We did everything.”
Who is Papa Isiadou?
Papa Isiadou is a British-Ghanaian actor gaining traction in the UK film and television industry.
His screen breakthrough came in 2020 with his role in the BBC’s I May Destroy You, earning nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award and British Academy Television Award.
He portrayed George Boleyn in the Channel 5 historical drama Anne Boleyn in 2021, and had starring roles in the AMC+ action series Gangs of London (2020–2022), the science fiction series The Lazarus Project (2020–2023), and Black Mirror: Demon 79 (2023).
His appearance in the legendary Harry Potter universe marks a significant milestone in his career and positions him among a new generation of African talents crossing into major international productions.
While detailed information on his Harry Potter role remains limited, Isiadou’s growing reputation is a testament to his skill and dedication in an industry where African representation continues to expand.
