I carried Ground Up Chale on my back
Ghanaian rapper Kwesi Arthur has shared an update on his earlier social media post, offering clarification on his allegations against Glen Boateng, the founder and CEO of Ground Up Chale, the label that previously signed him.
“I lived up to the contract. I did the time. Even after it was over, I decided to work with you on Son Of Jacob in good faith.
“I carried Ground Up Chale on my back,” Kwesi Arthur said, addressing the ongoing disputes over his music and image rights.
In his previous post, he explained that he is being asked to pay $150,000 for using images of himself in a current project.
“Ground Up Chale is demanding ownership over my image, my music, and everything connected to my brand from 2016 to date,” he added.
Kwesi Arthur also highlighted the financial challenges he faced while under the label. “I have not made a dime from any of my music within the period I worked with them for years now,” he wrote.
He went further to allege that Boateng and his team have used threats and manipulation, affecting his wellbeing and mental health.
“If anything happens to me, Glen Boateng and all team members of Ground Up Chale are responsible and should be held responsible,” Kwesi Arthur stated.
