Most musicians are into rituals
Nigerian singer Sky B has revealed shocking claims about the early days of his music career, including secret industry practices and alleged ritual items.
“After the initiation, they brought some rings, necklaces, perfumes, and pomades,” he said.
“They don’t put them together with tent leaves and alligator paper. Call that ground down. Put that for pomade. It will be rubber. They give you perfume.
“You put it on your body. Once you go on stage, you put that perfume. Then you get abomination.
“We will chop for your mouth. Your tongue. You need to sing with your tongue. You need to sing with your mouth.”
Sky B said many other musicians participated in similar practices. “Most of those musicians, when me and them follow, come out together.
They don’t blend and finish. They even tell me, ‘What are you saying? Are you not seeing more hits?’ I say, ‘Baba, I want to be like more hits too. I want to be like Don Jazzy and the rest.’”
Despite the promises of success, he refused some practices. “I said no. If you take down my picture… I am a fine boy like me.
“They will rub pomade with human head, human shit, inside my body. That cream will make you bleach. That perfume… If they attract woman, attract money. If they attract anything, they are good. I said Baba, I am not afraid to go.”
Sky B said he is ready to speak the truth, even if it brings danger. “After this video now they will come for me and maybe I will die or something. But I have to let people know the truth,” he said.
