I was very scared at first
Ghanaian musician Larruso has spoken about how his relationship with live audiences has evolved since he started performing.
According to him, performing on stage was initially difficult because he was young and nervous about facing large crowds.
“It makes me feel very grateful because when I wanted to perform for the first time, I was very scared,” he said on Joy Prime’s Changes programme monitored by MyNewsGh.
He explained that the fear came from having to stand before many people while still new to performing.
“I was very young then. So to go and face all these people, I had some fear in me,” he said.
Despite the anxiety, he said he gradually built confidence through experience.
“But I was able to fight it. I think it always grows, to get on stage and do what I have to do best,” he added.
Since gaining recognition in 2019, the musician said the anxiety he once felt has reduced significantly.
Today, he approaches live performances with more confidence and focuses on connecting with audiences through energy and presence on stage.
