Aduana Stars coach Asare Bediako conceded that securing a top four finish is now his main aim, after his side’s 0-2 loss to Hearts of Oak on Sunday.

Victor Aidoo scored from the spot to give the Phobians the lead at the Accra Sports Stadium before an own goal by Hafiz Adams in stoppage time secured all three points for Samuel Boadu’s team.

The result leaves Aduana 9 points adrift of the table-topping Great Olympics after 18 rounds of matches played.

The Ogya lads are currently ninth on the league table with 24 points.

Speaking to the media after the game, Asare Bediako blamed the defeat on his players for failing to execute his game plan.

“We lost the game I the first half because what I told them in the first half they didn’t do it. They were supposed to press but Hearts of Oak did that.

“They were supposed to press and mark one and one. When we went to recess I told them to do so we can get the equalizer. I told them to press because that was the training we had in the week but they didn’t do it”.

Bediako added, “For me my target is to finish in the top four this season”.
