GFA’s ‘Catch Them Young Refereeing Policy’ receives nationwide plaudits
The ‘Catch Them Young Refereeing Policy’, introduced by the Ghana Football Association has been warmly received and applauded by football lovers in the country.
The initiative was birthed by the Kurt E. S. Okraku led Ghana FA to help prepare the way for the next generation of Ghanaian referees.
This novelty in Ghana Football is specially designed to identify, educate and train young talents between the ages of 13-16 to officiate juvenile matches within their regions.
The young referees who have been trained and continue to receive training were used for the first time during matches played in respective juvenile league last weekend.
Their performance has drawn applause from observers who believe the move is a feather in the cap of the GFA.
