Manchester City has no interest in selling Ilkay Gündogan to FC Barcelona
English champions Manchester City have no interest in relinquishing midfielder Ilkay Gündogan this summer according to information from SPOX and Goal. The 30-year-old was last linked to FC Barcelona.
Although rumors recently emerged that Gündogan might be waiting for an offer from the Catalans, the Cityzens have now made it clear that they will not let the international go.
Ilkay Gündogan still has a contract with Manchester City until 2023, so the Skyblues can deal with the personnel in a relaxed manner.
The tech-savvy midfielder was the first transfer in the Pep Guardiola era in 2016 and was used more aggressively this season. In the role of playmaker, he experienced what was probably the best season of his career so far. Gündogan scored 13 goals in 28 Premier League appearances.
