Manchester City has long been said to have shown keen interest in Kane, who is to replace Sergio Aguero. But the English champions do not want to risk poker until shortly before the transfer window closes and bag transfers as early as possible in order to give the newcomers enough time to internalize the philosophy of coach Pep Guardiola.

Kane, who has so far not been able to convince at the European Championship, denied that the speculation about the change had an impact on his performance. “To be honest, that is absolutely not the case! I understand that there is speculation from the media point of view, but I am fully focused on the task that we have here,” he said.
