The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia has said the expelled former Deputy General Secretary, Mr Samuel Koku Anyidoho evaded all opportunity given him by the disciplinary committee of the party to defend himself of the allegations brought against him.
According to him, the committee reached out to him via letters, emails, couriers services and even WhatsApp messages but he declines those invitations hence the committee was let with no choice but to make their decision.
“……..They have tried all the means. If you have read the report, we did, they use ordinary letters, he refuse to accept it. It was sent by courier which has been receipted and he actually indicated that he will not accept the letter on two occasions. As for WhatsApp email messages and email messages, several of them so they came to the conclusions that he was simply evading and so they then draw the conclusion and recommended his expulsion”.
Mr Asiedu Nketia made the revelations in an interview on News 360 aired on TV3 on Tuesday, July, 27 monitored by GhanaPlus.com.
Koku Anyidoho’s Anti-party conduct
He explained the anti-party conducts which saw the former NDC leader’s expulsion as publications attributed to him in the media space which had the potential of tarnishing the image of the party.
“It borders on anti party conducts relative to publications in all the media, electronic, print and traditional media. Statement that are calculated to bring the image of the NDC in disrepute and so when we engage in any such conduct because the NDC believe in rule of laws we don’t like to take any rough decision, we give you the opportunity to be heard and you could be represented by a lawyer before a disciplinary committee. That opportunity was given him, unfortunately, the Disciplinary Committee reported last week recommending his expulsion on the ground that he has invaded servings and decline every opportunity to avail himself to defend himself so they did not have any other option than to recommend his expulsion,” he added.
