The Leader of the Economic Fighters League,Mr Ernesto Yeboah has called for the country’s 1992 constitution to be abolished and make way for a new one suitable for the new Ghana envisage by Ghanaians.
That he said was because the country’s current constitution was problematic and only gives room for leaders to rip off the state under the guise of constitutional leadership.
“What we have is not a Constitution, it is a note book for stealing and rigging and plundering the state. That is why they are stealing and ripping us in broad day light under the guise of the constitutional leadership.
“Recently, we saw what Article 71 office holders did and we also saw what the same group of people have done for workers in this country in terms of increment in salaries, 4%. So there must be an awakening.”
The social activist made the remarks in an interview with the media at the #FixTheCountry demonstration held in Accra on Wednesday, August 4.

“We are calling for the abolishing of the sakawa 1992 constitution. We are gathering 1Million names and signature of Ghanaians who are with us on that fact and by the time we are done the 1992 Constitution can no longer hold the legitimacy over us,“ he said.
