Great Olympics announce departure of Gladson Awako

Ghana Premier League giants, Great Olympics have announced the departure of Gladson Awako.

Awako was phenomenal for the Wonder Club and played a vital role in ensuring the club maintained its Premier League status.

He was involved in 13 goals; scoring six and assisting seven including four Man of the Match awards.

“Thanks for your services to the Wonder Club Gladson Awako.

“All the best in your next challenge. Once a Dade Boy, Always a Dade Boy,” the club wrote on their Facebook.

The experienced midfielder has been linked with a move to Hearts of Oak and according to reports, he is expected to complete his medical with the Phobians in the coming days.

Following his exploits in the domestic league, Awako was handed a call-up to the senior national team of Ghana by Coach CK Akonnor for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations double-header qualifiers against South Africa and Sao Tome.

He was linked to Asante Kotoko, Medeama SC this summer but Hearts of Oak have finally won the race to sign the silky midfielder.

The 30-year-old has agreed terms with the Phobians over a two-year deal worth $15,000.
