2021 AFCON: We must ensure we are strong for the tournament – Ghana coach CK Akonnor
The head coach for the Ghana male senior national team, CK Akonnor has emphasized that he needs to make the Black Stars stronger for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
The Black Stars will at the next AFCON make another attempt to end the age-old trophy drought.
Although Coach CK Akonnor does not want to rush things, he notes that his team must prepare cautiously to present a strong team for the tournament.
“As to what system we will play. Time will tell. There are certain things that we are putting things in place and very soon it will show. This is a national team and we must ensure we are strong. Not just attacking but we must also defend very well,” the coach said during a virtual engagement with the media on Friday when asked whether his team will be seen playing beautiful football at the AFCON.
At the 2021 AFCON, Ghana has been pitted in Group C and will face Morocco, Gabon, and Comoros.
