All those involved in the appointment of CK Akonnor as Black Stars head coach must be sacked – Abbey Pobee
Experienced football administrator, Jonathan Abbey Pobee has noted that all officials of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) that took the decision to appoint CK Akonnor as Black Stars head coach must be sacked.
The Neoplan Stars owner is unhappy about the decision from the GFA Executive Council to terminate the contract of the indigenous tactician just a year and 9 months since he was appointed.
Insisting that sacking coach Akonnor is not the answer to the problems of the Black Stars, Abbey Pobee says whoever was involved in giving the Black Stars job to CK Akonnor should be fished out and dismissed as well.
“Who appointed CK Akonnor? CK Akonnor has been at post for how long now? That means they didn’t do the due diligence before the appointment was given to CK Akonnor.
“So how do you appoint CK Akonnor, is it a year or less than a year then you sack him. That is not good. So to me I blame those who appointed CK Akonnor but not CK Akonnor. Those who appointed CK Akonnor should rather be sacked before CK Akonnor,” Mr. Pobee told Class FM in an interview.
Footballghana.com can report that the three-member committee of the Ghana FA will today settle on the new head coach for the Black Stars.
Subsequently, the name of the gaffer will be submitted to the Executive Council of the association on Thursday, September 16, 2021.
