Musician Maccasio eyes parliamentary seat; hints of contesting to be MP soon
Tamale-based musician, Sherif Abdul Majeed known in showbiz as Maccasio has disclosed his readiness to represent his constituents as a Member of Parliament (MP) in the future.
“If my people want me to represent them in the future as their Member of Parliament I will surely respond to what they want me to do for them,” he revealed to Amansan Krakye in an interview.
The ‘Northern King of Rap’ who touts himself to be the biggest artiste in the Northern Region of Ghana, stated that he’s willing to serve and work on behalf of his people if chosen to be their lawmaker.
He explained, “Oh yeah as a Member of Parliament you are representing and working for your people so if there is the need to work for them in that way why not”.
The ‘Tuma’ hitmaker, however, failed to establish which political party that he will be willing to represent, adding that he’ll prefer being an independent candidate.
“But if I’m to choose which political party I will be contesting on their ticket to go to parliament I think that will be difficult maybe I will consider being an independent candidate,” he laughed.
