Inter is a top club in Europe and a great team – Bright Gyamfi

Defender Bright Gyamfi talks about the team in which he grew up in and with which he shone in the youth sector, touching on his debut in the First Team; on the other, Roberto De Zerbi’s Shakhtar Donetsk, coach he had at the time of Benevento.

You arrived at Inter as a kid, winning everything with the Primavera and coming to train with the champions of the First Team: what does this club mean for you?

Inter are a beautiful memory, that’s where I started playing since I arrived in Italy. Inter are a great team, a top club in Europe, even at the youth sector level. It was a huge pleasure to have been a part of this family. With the Primavera we won a Viareggio Tournament and an Italian Cup, it was two wonderful years. They have helped me a lot in my growth.

Speaking of that Viareggio Tournament: you decided the final against Verona with a goal in the final …

I remember very well: the coach was Stefano Vecchi, that group was very strong, many of those guys are now playing in Serie A and Serie B. That match remains unforgettable.

Federico Dimarco also played in that team, unfortunate protagonist of the penalty from the spot against Atalanta but who is proving that he can have a role in this Inter.

Dimarco is a year younger than me, but when he came to play with us he already made a difference, even from under age. With that southpaw he knows how to take penalties, he is very good on set pieces, he gives his best in the offensive phase. He is doing very well, in any team he has played he has always shown his qualities: making mistakes is part of his growth path, it is not a failed penalty that defines his value. I know him well, he is a determined boy: he will not let himself down.

Inter played in the Champions League against Shakhtar Donetsk coach by De Zerbi your former coach: what memories do you have of him?

Mister De Zerbi is a very precise coach, he knows how to make his players play, he knows how to convey his ideas. He believes in what he does, without changing. His mentality and his idea of ​​football do not change. He likes to play football, he likes to have fun. He is doing well, I am pleased to see him coach a team that plays in the Champions League: I wish him great things.
