Omani side Saham Club complete signing of Ghana defender Rashid Sumaila

Omani side Saham Club have completed the signing of Ghana defender Rashid Sumaila.

The 28-year-old joins the club on a one-year deal with an option to extend after successful negotiations.

Sumaila has been without a club since leaving Kuwaiti side Qadsia in July 2020 after the expiration of his contract.

He moved to Kuwait in July 2015 from South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns after spending just a season.

He has previously played on loan for Qatari club Al-Gharafa SC and Red Star Belgrade in Serbia.

The former Asante Kotoko defender has made 10 appearances for the Black Stars since making his debut in September 2012.

The defender was a member of the Black Meteors team that won Ghana’s first All-Africa Games football Gold medal in the Football at the 2011 All-Africa Games when they defeated South Africa 4–2 on penalty shoot-out at the Estádio do Zimpeto in Maputo, Mozambique on September 17, 2011.
