BECHEM UNITED: FMIG GPL TEAM OF WEEK

Matchweek 1 of the 2021/22 GPL Season threw up a mixed bag of results and performances from the 18 teams competing for the most prized asset in the country.

17 goals from 9 games, 5 wins and 4 draws and just three home wins were the major storylines from the opening day of the new GPL Season.

Bechem United mauled last season’s MTN FA Cup Semi-finalists Medeama, by 4-o at their favored Nana Gyeabour Fosu Park on Matchday 1 of the GPL Season.

The Hunters’ performance is top of the pile because they had to do it the hard way as they were reduced to 10 men just before the interval while they led 2-0.

While many thought the red card could have spelled the end of their dominance in the game, the home side went on to build their lead and grabbed two more goals to increase their advantage.

Bechem United defense also repelled every effort from the Medeama attacking unit as they held on to keep a cleansheet.

The Hunters next visit Kumasi to face Asante Kotoko in their next game in the Ghana Premier League.
