Forget it; I won’t resign – Milovan Rajevac after catastrophic AFCON campaign with Ghana

Ghana head coach, Milovan Rajevac has stressed that he has no intention of resigning despite the abysmal performance of his Black Stars at the 2021 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

With the team losing 3-2 to Comoros on Tuesday night, the Black Stars are out of the 2021 AFCON currently being hosted in Cameroon.

At his post-match conference, Milovan Rajevac was asked whether it is in his plans to resign as Ghana national team head coach.

The Serbian tactician answered in the negative while emphasizing that his target is to guide Ghana to qualify to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

“I took this job with the aim of taking Ghana to the World Cup. This competition did not go well but it is a learning process for us.

“I will stay and lead Ghana in the World Cup qualifiers in March. I believe we have a team that can become stronger and get to the World Cup,” Milovan Rajevac.

The Serbian tactician is expected to return home with the Black Stars for the Ghana FA to decide his fate.
