Ghanaian midfielder Derrick Jones joins American side Charlotte FC on three-year deal
Ghanaian midfielder Derrick Jones will feature for Major League Soccer (MLS) side Charlotte FC after completing a move to the club, Footballghana.com can report.
The 25-year-old joins Charlotte FC on a three-year deal from Dynamo Houston for a fee of $50,000.
His former employers are entitled to 20% of any future transfer fee outside the MLS.
The midfielder was instrumental for Dynamo Houston in the 2021 campaign, featuring 20 times.
Jones, who was born in Bantama, Kumasi, moved to the USA at an early age and has since has had stints with Nashville SC and the Philadelphia Union.
He has featured for the US U-20 and U-23 national teams respectively but is still eligible to play for Ghana at senior level.
