Nigerian companies support their creative arts industry better than Ghana – Yvonne Nelson

Beautiful Ghanaian actress and film producer Yvonne Nelson has chastised Ghanaian companies for their lack of interest in the creative art industry compared to the oil-rich country Nigeria where massive support is extended to the industry.
According to her, funding movies in Ghana has become a difficult task because corporate institutions in the country are ignorant of how impactful and influential the industry can be to them.
“I would say in Ghana, our companies do not see the value of arts. Because if you respect and value and see the kind of power we have, you would want to associate with what we are doing. This is because our followers and audience base is huge”. Yvonne Nelson said this in an interview with Kingdom FM in Accra monitored by MyNewsGH.com.
“Because in our neighboring country Nigeria, companies supports them (creative arts industry), they understand and they value the arts”, she explained.
The filmmaker further revealed that the creative industry has a bigger potential of helping organizations in Ghana to sell their products across the country if they harness the opportunity well.
