Dennis Odoi reminds me off Harrison Afful – Former Black Stars goalkeeper Fatau Dauda
Former Ghana goalkeeper Fatau Duada has showered praises on Black Stars defender Dennis Odoi following his outstanding performance against Madagascar in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The Black Stars inflicted a 3-0 win over their opponent at the Cape Coast stadium on Wednesday night.
Goals from Kudus Mohammed, Felix Afena-Gyan and Osman Bukari in the second half was enough for the four-time African Champions to pick the maximum points at stake.
Reacting to the team’s performance, the former Ashantigold and Legon Cities shot stopper was full of praise for Dennis Odoi and likened his style of play to former Black Stars defender Harrison Afful.
“Dennis Odoi reminds me off Harrison Afful, he is able to surge forward and defend as well. To be able to succeed in such positions, you need to be intelligent” he said.
“I think we’ve gotten the right replacement after Harrison Afful and Samuel Inkoom. I think the Ghana FA are still in talks with Tariq Lamptey to switch nationality so we can get a lot of options”
Ghana will travel to face Central Africa Republic in their second Group E game.
