Tarkwa Nsuaem MCE Benjamin Kessie condemns attack against Golden Star Mining Resource Company – Skyy Power FM
Hon. Benjamin Kessie, Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), condemned the action of Subrisu (a sub-community at Benso) community members against Golden Star Mining Resources Company, during his visit with a team of security personnel on Monday, 20th March 2023.
While he sympathized with the company, he inspected the scenes and urged them to cooperate with the security agency to bring the perpetrators to book.

Hon. Kessie also charged the police and other security agencies to do their best to fish out the recalcitrants for proper punishment.
This comes after armed illegal miners stormed the mining site and the administration of the company at Ningo and Subriso on Thursday, March 16, in the Western Region setting ablaze almost all the mining equipment including dozers, vehicles, and safety items and even attempting to burn the company’s gold processing plant.
According to reports, the community carried out their mining activities at IZONE, a concession of Golden Star company, in an attempt to stop them, one person lost his life while trying to prevent the police from doing their work.
