News coming in from Kumawu in relation to the ongoing by-election is that the electoral officer of the Oyokor Methodist Primary School polling station has forced polling agents to sign the pink sheet before the close of polls.

Meanwhile, the Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Nana Akwasi has raised concerns that the EC has to change the pink sheet before the close of elections.

Dr Serebuor Quarcoo, Director of Elections EC speaking to the media says the action by the electoral officer was wrong and believes it was a mistake which will not be repeated.

He said, “I believe it was a mistake on the part of the officer, to sign the results means the elections have been completed. According to the explanation the officer gave, he did not tell them to sign, he filled the forms with his information and asked the agents to also do the same, but upon his realisation… They have filled out the documents and signed them as well.”

“Our attention was called to it and has been clarified, the explanation our agent gave was genuine because he cannot even force them to do something against what they have to been trained to do.” He added.
