Charles Bissue declared wanted by Special Prosecutor – Skyy Power FM

The Special Prosecutor has issued a wanted statement for Charles Bissue, a former secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM).

Days prior, the Office of the Special Prosecutor obtained a court order authorizing his arrest.

After Mr. Bissue declined the Special Prosecutor’s invitation last month, this order was obtained.

The former Presidential staffer’s attorney has claimed that his client will not surrender despite the directive.

At the request of the attorney for Mr. Bissue, a court today postponed a hearing until July 4.

The OSP claims that Mr. Bissue’s attorney informed the court that his client was “so ill that he cannot stand and speak.”

To prohibit OSP from pursuing legal action against him, Mr. Bissue intended to file an application for an injunction.

The OSP has requested the arrest of Charles Bissue as a result of this.

On May 22, he was asked to appear at the investigation body’s offices.

The OSP was then written by Mr. Bissue’s attorneys asking for a copy of the petition that served as the basis for this invitation and asked that the meeting be postponed until May 25 due to “a domestic emergency.”

According to Mr. Bissue’s attorneys, the OSP insisted on May 22 rather than the planned date of May 25, 2023.

Because this meeting did not take place, the OSP went to court to obtain an arrest warrant.

In a new lawsuit, Mr. Bissue is requesting that the court vacate the arrest order that was issued against him and determine that the investigating agency has violated his human rights. Mr. Bissue is suing the OSP for a third time.

The OSP’s investigations following the publication of the investigative documentary “Galamsey Fraud Part I” by Tiger Eye P.I. and the journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas are the subject of the prior two lawsuits.

In this case, Mr. Bissue had also asked for a copy of the petition that had sparked the investigation. Furthermore, he claimed that before taking office, Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng had written this petition while working as a private practitioner.

Adding that the matter of his investigation has already been resolved by the Police Service’s CID, he requests that the court prevent the OSP from looking into him. These cases have not yet been resolved.

Just a day prior, information about the former environment minister’s GHs2 million bail after visiting the OSP to aid in investigations into ‘galamsey’ actions while in charge of the IMCIM team came to light.
