Motorists Praise Dr. Grace Ayensu Danquah’s Road Reshaping Efforts but Call for Long-Term Solution
Motorists travelling the Mpintsin Junction to Eshiem Road are expressing appreciation for the improvements made by Professor Dr Grace Ayensu Danquah, the NDC parliamentary candidate.
Her initiative to reshape the five-kilometre stretch has been well received. It will provide much-needed relief to commuters and boost local economic activity by enhancing access to markets and industrial zones.
Despite the positive impact, there is a call for a more permanent solution.
The road, a crucial part of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis’s infrastructure, has faced significant deterioration, leading to frequent demonstrations over the past three years due to the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly’s inaction.
Residents have often felt that repair promises were merely temporary fixes.
Dr. Danquah’s intervention has notably improved road conditions and safety.
Emmanuel Dela Jafaro, the NDC deputy communications officer for the Essikado-Ketan constituency, commended her efforts, contrasting them with Joe Ghartey’s long tenure, which he says has failed to deliver similar improvements.
While the reshaping has alleviated some immediate concerns, many residents advocate for a durable solution.
Given the heavy truck traffic, they worry that the current measures may soon deteriorate, underscoring the need for a robust and sustainable approach to ensure the road remains safe and effective for long-term use.
