Captan shares his Inspiring journey with Shatta Wale and the price of fame

A former member of Shatta Wale’s now-defunct Militants, Captan, has opened up about his experiences within the music industry and his relationship with the dancehall superstar.
His insights reveal the challenges emerging artists face and the motivation that drives them to succeed.
Captan shared that his connection with Shatta Wale was born out of a desire for knowledge and success. He recognized Wale as a powerful force in the Ghanaian music scene and sought to learn from him.
Reflecting on his journey, he recounted the significant changes that followed his collaboration with Wale. “After the release of our track together, my landlady suddenly increased my rent from 700 GHC to 1300 GHC,” Captan explained in an interview with ace broadcaster Fiifi Pratt on Kingdom FM monitored by MyNewsGh.com
This sudden hike in rent was a wake-up call for him. His landlady justified the increase by claiming that his financial situation had evidently improved as a new superstar driving a car. This moment served as a pivotal motivation for Captan.
He realized that people were beginning to perceive him differently, and with that perception came new expectations from friends and acquaintances. “It pushed me to work harder and elevate my standards,” he admitted, recognizing the responsibility that came with his newfound status.
When Captan first joined Wale’s camp, he recalled meeting only Joint 77 initially, with the rest of the Militants joining later.
“I dedicated myself to achieving the level of success that Wale envisioned for me,” he said, highlighting his commitment to not just his growth but also to fulfilling the dreams of those who believed in him.
For him, the path to success is not just about talent; it’s about resilience, hard work, and the support of those around you.
