Kwabena Kokofu Appointed Snr. Campaign Aid to Napo


In a strategic move ahead of the 2024 general elections, Hon. Dr. Henry Kwabena Kokofu Esq. has been appointed as the Snr Campaign Aid and Advisor for the Running mate of the New Patriotic Party’s Presidential Candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
Hon. Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as “Napo”, is said to have a long-standing cordial and working relationship with the appointee.
He comes on board on board with extreme plethora of experience and knowledge. He had served as a two-term chairman of Bantama Constituency before becoming the Member of Parliament in 2013.
Dr Kokofu is a senior member of the National Communication Team, Chairman of the Greater Kumasi Strategic Committee of Dr Bawumia’s campaign.
He is also a member of the Legal Committee. He is known for his organizational skills and grassroot mobilization.
The decision was confirmed by the leadership of the party and members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) described it as a vital step in bolstering their electoral machinery.
Dr. Kokofu, a seasoned politician and former Member of Parliament for Bantama, is known for his organizational skills and grassroots mobilization.
His appointment comes as the NPP intensifies efforts to secure a third consecutive term in office, with Napo eyeing a key leadership role in the party’s future.
In accepting the role, Dr. Kokofu expressed his commitment to driving a campaign focused on the development achievements of Napo, who has served as Minister of Education and also Energy Minister.
He said in an interview that, “This campaign will be about showcasing real progress and results,” Kokofu said. “We are confident the people will choose a proven leader who has always prioritized their well-being.”
Napo has earned widespread recognition for his role in transforming the education sector through the implementation of the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy, as well as his leadership in Ghana’s energy reforms.
Many political analysts believe the campaign will emphasize these achievements while countering the opposition’s criticisms ahead of the elections.
Dr. Kokofu’s appointment is expected to galvanize the party’s base and attract independent voters, as he brings with him a reputation for effective leadership and a strong political network.
Party insiders believe that his influence, particularly in the Ashanti Region, a critical stronghold for the NPP, could be pivotal in securing victory.
With a seasoned campaign team now in place, Napo is poised to embark on an aggressive nationwide tour to garner support, as the NPP sets its sights on retaining power in a highly competitive political landscape.
