Emelia Brobbey details her acting Journey and directorial debut

Actress and singer Emelia Brobbey recently sat down for an interview on One Ghana TV, where she opened up about her comeback into acting, her admiration for industry veteran Rev. Samuel Nyamekye, and her recent leap into movie production.

Reflecting on her comeback to the screen after a hiatus spent focusing on music, Emelia expressed immense gratitude. “I am so thankful to Rev. Samuel Nyamekye, the CEO of Miracle Films. Without his support, this return would not have been possible,” she said warmly.

Emelia credited Nyamekye with not only launching her acting career seventeen years ago but also setting the high standards that have shaped her as an artist. “Mr. Nyamekye is a perfectionist. He has this drive to bring out the absolute best in everyone on his team,” she added, sharing how his influence has been pivotal in her career.

Recently, Emelia has also branched into movie production, and she’s quick to acknowledge that the learning continues. “Even now, with a bit of production experience under my belt, I find myself absorbing so much from him on set. His passion and attention to detail are inspiring,” she noted.

Discussing her latest film, which also marks her directorial debut, Emelia revealed an unusual casting choice that proved both challenging and rewarding. “In this movie, I play the husband of Mr. Nyamekye,” she laughed, acknowledging the emotional complexity of the role. “It was a bit overwhelming at first because I’ve always looked up to him as a father figure. But that’s the magic of acting – you learn to adapt and bring authenticity to the character.”
