Empire’s Hakeem Lyon (Bryshere Gray) arrested for allegedly assaulting his Wife

Vida Essel-LampteyEmpire actor, Hakeem Lyon has been arrested for allegedly assaulting his wife in their Goodyear home, Arizona, United States.
Maricopa County Jail records indicate that Gray was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, assault, and disorderly conduct.
The 26-year-old actor, born Bryshere Gray was reported to have been taken into police custody Monday after refusing to come out of his home initially.
Hakeem Lyon’s Incident
The report said the actor strangled his wife until she passed out on Sunday night, July 12, 2020.
Police responded to a 911 call around 10:15 p.m. Sunday night “that an adult female victim had been allegedly assaulted at her Goodyear home by her husband, who she identified as Bryshere Gray, an actor on the TV series Empire,” a press release by the Goodyear police reads.
The actor’s wife was reported to have sustained “numerous visible injuries on her body and also stated that she was strangled at one point by Gray and temporarily lost consciousness,” another report by the ABC15 said.
Her injuries, the report said was, however, not life-threatening and have since been treated and discharged.
Bryshere Gray and Empire
Bryshere Gray, an American actor, and rapper was well known for his character, Hakeem Lyon in the Fox musical drama series, “Empire”.
Also known as Yazz the Greatest, Yazz in real life, he was one of the main characters in the household series playing the role of the youngest and once-favorite son of hip-hop mogul Lucious.
