Shatta Wale in handcuffs as police confirm his arrest (PHOTOS)
Photos of Shatta Wale in handcuffs have been released as Ghana Police confirm the arrest of the dancehall musician.
Shatta Wale has been on the run for days after the Police declared him wanted for faking a shooting incident involving on Monday afternoon.
The singer, on Tuesday, October 19, disclosed his willingness to turn himself in to the police, and truly fulfilled his promise.
The police in a statement on Facebook said he turned himself in at 8.59 pm on Tuesday, October 19.
It said his arrest will ‘assist the Police in investigations for his alleged involvement in the creation and circulation of information intended to cause fear and panic.’
The full statement reads: “Police Have Arrested Charles Nii Armah Mensah Popularly Known as Shatta Wale
The Police have arrested Charles Nii Armah Mensah popularly known as Shatta Wale.
After we publicly declared him and one other person wanted, the suspect, Shatta Wale, turned himself in today Tuesday 19th October, 2021, at 8.59pm.
He has been arrested to assist the Police in investigations for his alleged involvement in the creation and circulation of information intended to cause fear and panic.
As stated in previous statements, the public is advised to desist from publishing false information, capable of disturbing the peace of the country or risk being arrested and prosecuted.”
