AUDIO: 12 year old girl s*xually abused by her own father in Ashanti Region
A galamsey man believed to be in his 50s and a resident of Atimatim Maase in the Ashanti Region has been reported of allegedly abusing his 12-year-old daughter s*xually.
Information gathered by GhanaPlus.com said the abuse which has been going on for years was gradually having a toll on the emotional and psychological well being of the girl.
Only identified as Ohemaa, the twelve-year-old who was curious to know the impact of the s*xual abuse by her father, took pictures of her private parts with a phone but was unable to delete them subsequently and that was when her plight came to light.
A source close to the lady whom the little girl confided in after the girl used her phone to take the photos, said the lady has been left in a dilemma as to what to do since Ohemaa failed to open up to medical doctors at the Tafo Government Hospital where the abuse was confirmed.
The source disclosed that the man had also made his intention of moving out of the house known to the family and that they fear may lead to more of the abuse in their absence.
The Audio
Narrating the incident in an audio recording available to GhanaPlus.com, the source close to the lady Ohemaa confided in, said the 12-year-old girl and her father are tenants at their Atimatim family house in the Ashanti Region.
According to him, Ohemaa’s father, a galamsey man believed to be in his 50s, usually leaves her daughter in the care of the family (owners of the house) whenever he was away for work since there was no one to take care of her.
Ohemaa Curious to know the impact of her father’s s*xual abuse
A few weeks ago, the girl was left in the care of the family just like all other days. While there, Ohemaa took the mobile phone of the lady, hid herself somewhere in another room, and took pictures of her private part to ascertain the impact of her father’s abuse.
Unable to delete the pictures afterward, and the owner of the phone furiously searching for her phone, Ohemaa left the pictures on the phone.
“The lady had been looking for her phone in her own room unsuccessfully, so she went to another room and saw her phone there. When she picked the phone and opened the gallery, she found out that someone had used her phone to take n*ked pictures of her private parts. After one, two flips she saw a picture of Ohemaa also on it“.
Ohemaa opens up about her ordeal
“Initially, we thought, the girl was only being a bad girl and that she had taken the pictures to send it to her boyfriend,” the source said.
Upon queries about the pictures, the 12-year-old opened up about her father’s abuse on her anytime she was home, adding that she was taking the picture to see how her private part looked like after several abuses by her father.
Amidst tears which the source said wet the lady’s skirt, Ohemaa narrated her story.
Thereafter, the lady took the girl to the hospital after informing her father about what his daughter had disclosed.
The source indicated that the lady took Ohemaa to the Tafo Government Hospital where doctors confirmed the abuse after several attempts by the girl’s father to convince her not to do so through countless phone calls.
“When she told the night before that she will take the girl to the hospital, Ohemaa’s father started calling her and told her not to take the girl to the hospital under the excuse that he did not have money to pay for the bills, he kept calling“.
“The report from the doctors after three different tests were conducted on her showed that she had been abused, however, the girl failed to open up to the doctors upon further quires” he added.
