Seven people have been arrested for allegedly killing an old man and woman.
The two victims were branded as witches in the Talensi District of the Upper East Region.
A fetish priest forced the two accused persons under the instruction of community members to drink some concoctions to prove their innocence.
The old man however was reported to have died instantly and the old woman a day after taking the unknown concoction.
Other suspects are still on the run as the police say they are still on the manhunt.
The District Chief Executive for Talensi District, Thomas Wuni Pearson, told the media that he is surprised by the incident and will follow up with the police till there is justice for the deceased.
