
Some 9 youths of Wassa Edwenase in the Wassa East District of the Western Region have been invited for questioning by the Ghana Police Service over the demolishing of a building project in their community.
According to a letter presented to the Police Commander in the Wassa East District by Opinion Leaders of Wassa Edwenase, the opinion leaders are taking responsibility for the demolishing of the building project.
The reason given is that the land that the project is being developed on was allocated to the community by their late chief, Nana Kwasi Takyi ll purposely for the development of a market but has been sold to a private developer by the Queen Mother, Obaheema Yaa Ango.
Therefore 18 opinion leaders comprising of chiefs, politicians and family heads from Wassa Edwinase including the whole community are at the Daboase District Police Headquarters taking responsibility for the collapse of the building project as they claim they did it for the betterment of the community.
