About 40 houses have been ravaged by tidal waves at Anglo Beach, a fishing community in the Shama District of the Western Region.

The violent waves swept through the community destroying properties, rendering about half of the population homeless.
Shama DCE, Mr Ebenezer Dadzie who was there to assess the situation described it as unpleasant and bad.

According to him, the community has agreed to be moved permanently to a resettlement area.
He said life is precious and they cannot wait any longer for people to perish before something is done to the situation.
Mr Dadzie said they will engage the leadership of the community on Friday to decide on the commencement of the relocation exercise.
He said, “I was here with the Member of Parliament (MP), we spoke to them and gave them assurance that we will move them permanently to the resettlement area.”
“We know there are disputes on the land, we will call all the parties involved and go on an agreement and relocate them as soon as possible because life is very precious and their life is in danger.”
