Vida Essel-LampteyThe former Chief Executive Officer of Airtel Ghana and the 1st Ghanaian female Telecoms CEO, Ms. Lucy Quist, has called for one challenge at a time approach in dealing with problems that confront us as a nation.
According to her, adopting a one challenge approach, together with all hands on deck and clear policy direction, the nation would succeed in creating the change needed at this particular point in time.
“Perhaps what we need to do is pick one challenge, make it national, get everyone to participate and demonstrate clearly what it takes to succeed in creating change” the post reads.
Ms. Quist made the comment in a Facebook post today, July 13, 2020.
The post was taken from page 77 of her book titled “The Bold New Normal”
The transformational Business Leader and Youth Advocates said that even though she was referring to existing challenges confronting the world at the time she was writing the book, the statement seems to be of more relevance to the world’s challenges today, much more than she had anticipated.
“When I was writing this quote from #TheBoldNewNormal I was thinking of existing national challenges on the continent of healthcare, education, and access jobs that undermine the individual’s ability to self-actualize for prosperity,” a statement accompanying the post reads.
“Today, this quote is even more true. We face a pandemic that calls for us all to act together to get through. What role will you play?” she quizzed.
Profile of Lucy Quist
Born in London to Ghanaian parents, Ms. Lucy Quist is a very influential woman in the country and has won several awards to that effect.
She wrote her book, The Bold New Normal: Creating The Africa Where Everyone Prospers in 2019.
