Appiatse youth deny accusing MCE of looting donated cement

Some concerned youth of Appiatse have denied accusing the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Prestea-Huni Valley Dr Isaac Dasamani of carting away with donated cement.

A press conference was organised by the youth on Monday, February 7, to address some information circulating in the media which they termed as false.

According to Mr Ebenezer Quagyir who is the spokesperson of the youth, they have taken notice of some individuals spreading information that the MCE looted bags of cement donated for the rebuilding of the Appiatse community.

Mr Quagyir speaking to Skyy Power FM explained that 450 bags of cement were donated by Asante Gold for the Appiatse rebuilding and after receiving the item, a misunderstanding ensued.

He indicated the misunderstanding was on how many bags of cement were supposed to be delivered which they questioned if the number delivered were the right figures.

After some consultation and requesting for the waybill of the item from Asante Gold, they realised the right amount of cement was delivered to the Appiatse community.

However, some unscrupulous individuals are moving from one media house to the other circulating false information concerning the MCE of looting some of the donated cement bags, Mr Quagyir said.

“We know nothing about the allegations being labelled against the MCE, I don’t know the motive of the people spreading this information but it is never true the MCE has looted some of the items delivered.”

“Also, we have no idea of who is spreading the info and we will like to also plead with the MCE to disregard this false information,” he added.
