Appliance Explosion: Engen Ghana supports victims

Engen Ghana Limited, a national petroleum retail and supplies company, has presented mattresses, mosquito nets, bags of rice, cooking oil, and canned foods to the victims of the Appiatse explosion.

The items, delivered through the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) in Accra, were worth GHC60,000.00.

“In line with Engen Ghana’s long-established Corporate Social Responsibility, which focuses on improving livelihoods and benefiting society, the company responded to support the Appiatse community, many of whom are now homeless as a result of the accident,” Mr Brent Nartey, the Managing Director of Engen Ghana, said at the handing over ceremony.

“The Engen Ghana team wished to express its sincere condolences to the victims of this tragic incident,”

“At Engen Ghana, we live by the principle: the best way of living is giving, so we’re offering help to the people of Appiatse with the much-needed supplies.”

Mr Nartey called on local businesses and community members who are in the position to help to support the relief effort.

He said Engen Ghana, operating a network of over 40 service stations, would continue to supply refined petroleum products and other downstream-related services to private and commercial customers while supporting other national efforts.

Mr Abu Ramandan, the NADMO Deputy Director-General in charge of Operations, received the items and pledged to distribute them to the victims.
