Arise Ghana Riot Demonstrators Granted Bail.

Arise Ghana demonstrators who were arrested by Ghana police service for causing riots during the protest has granted bail.

Twenty nine (29) suspects were arrested for rioting  during the Arise Ghana demonstration on Tuesday June 28, 2022 have been granted police enquiry bail.

Twenty six (26) of them who have met the bail conditions have been released.

The remaining three (3) are still going through the process of satisfying the bail conditions for their release.

The Martyr’s day celebrations today, made it difficult for the suspects to be arraigned before the court.

Therefore, in line with the constitutional provision of not keeping suspects beyond 48 hours, they were granted bail and will be arraigned on Monday, 4th July, 2022.

The Ghana police service remain committed to ensuring that all other perpetrators are arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the laws of the country.

The pressure group, Arise Ghana says that they are protesting against persistent and astronomical fuel price hikes in the country.

According to the group, this demonstration goes to register their displeasure about the economic hardships in Ghanaians.

The also, protest against the introduction of the controversial E-levy on Ghanaians which stress the already impoverished.

The classification of the Achimota Forest reserved by government.

The group accused the police service of needless brutality on civilians and state sponsored killing of innocent Ghanaians.
