2022 African Wedding Makers Awards (AWEMA) nominations opened

Nominations for the 2nd edition of the African Wedding Makers Awards (AWEMA), an award scheme to recognized and reward players in the wedding industry in Ghana and beyond has been opened.

Nominations for this year’s event is opened from today, May 9 to Monday, May 30 with some 32 categories available to be vied for.

Industry players and the general public are encouraged to nominate their favorite vendors at www.awemafestival.com.

Categories announced includes AWEMA Bridal Stylist of the Year, Cake Designer of the Year, Photography of the Year, Wedding DJ of the Year, Discovering MC of the Year , Most Promising Security Company of the Year and many more.

New categories such as Exotic Rob Designer of the Year, Sophisticated Kente Provider of the Year, Traditional Stylist, Ring Company of Year and Performing Music Artiste are also up for grab at the 2022 edition of AWEMA.

The Chief Executive Officer of Reenart Multimedia, organizers of AWEMA, Ms Irene Nartey in an interview with GhanaPlus.com said this year’s event is being supported by a United Arab Emirate’s global platform for ladies and women in business, “Ladies in Business Magazine Global” with more exciting packages for winners.

In addition, AWEMA 2022 will birth a two-day exhibition experience for wedding makers and shoppers dubbed “AWEMA Festival”.

The initiative, she said is to bring together industry players under one roof for an experience, comprising music, sales, networking opportunities and host of others.

“The new addition, yes! ,aside from rewarding excellence in the wedding industry, we introducing the festival as a medium of bringing these vendors under the same space for the general public and possibly clients to have one on one with the big names making waves in the wedding industry to shop, network and make sales,” she said.

“The initiative is to create that platform for more vendors to promote their brands as well as meet future clients hence the festival which automatically add spice to the already AWEMA becoming awemafestival,” Ms Nartey explained.

African Wedding Makers Awards (AWEMA) was launched last year to celebrate wedding makers both in Ghana and beyond whose contributions together make the African wedding a memorable and exciting one.

The event is under the auspices of the Reenart Multimedia and it is the first of its kind in the country.
