Carmuese Lime Product, a lime-producing company based in the Western Region has pledged to continue supporting the Sofokrom community in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis of the Western Region.
Speaking at an HIV sensitisation program organised by Carmuese Lime Product at the Sofokrom Community, the Human Resource Manager, Madam Mary Obeng said as part of their core corporate social responsibility they decided to organise an HIV sensitisation program to educate the community members of Sofokrom.

She said they took this decision because HIV/AIDS is on the rise and the Western Region is one of the leading regions when it comes to the contraction of the virus.
She said, “As a company, we place a premium on human health and longevity of life, we have therefore gathered here therefore to fulfil one of the Sustainability Development Goals (SDG) being implemented by the United Nations as part of our core social corporate responsibility.”
“We know the havoc HIV/AIDS is causing that is why we have organised this sensitisation program to educate you on the deadly disease… Over the years, Carmuese has been helping the community by way of renovating the Nana Kwesi Badu Basic School, putting up the chief’s palace and giving jobs to people of the community. We will continue to do more for the community when the need arises.”

Former Metro Health Director, Dr Sutherland informed the community on how one can contract and also prevent himself from the virus.
