Electoral Commission declares Akufo –Addo President-elect of Ghana

The Electoral Commission of Ghana has declared the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as President-elect of the 2020 presidential elections.

The win gives the President, another four year term of office  to govern the country until 2024.

Announcing the results at the Office of the Electoral Commission at Ridge in Accra, the Electoral Commissioner, Jean Mensa said the President pulled a total of 6,730,413 votes, representing 51.59 while his main contender, the National Democratic Congress John Dramani Mahama won a total of 6,214,889 votes representing 47.36 per cent.

She described the elections as transparent, fair peaceful, orderly and timely ever conducted in the country.
