Some polling station executives in the Essikado-Ketan electoral area in the Western Region have petitioned the Chairman of the Constituency Executive Committee over an alleged tape of the aspiring parliamentary candidate of the constituency, Hormah Miezah.

According to them, Hormah Miezah on several counts has been recorded for making damning allegations and remarks about the New Patriotic Party at both party and Constituency levels which has the potential of causing irreparable damage to the party and their politics.

They added that as a person aspiring to lead the party as a parliamentary candidate in Essikado-Ketan for the 2024 polls, Madam Miezah owes a duty to be diligent, truthful and responsible in her pronunciation.

They said, “Our concern for which we are petitioning the Constituency Executive Committee (CEC) comes on the back of an assertion by Anna Hormah Miezah that herself and other party executives rescued the incumbent Member of Parliament, Joe Ghariey from an electoral defeat in 2020 by manipulating the process at the Collation Center.”

“She repeatedly made this comment before clectoral area coordinators during her visits between 27 December 2022nd January 2023.”

“As members of the party we are overwhelmed by these allegations [though unfounded] and find her actions in respect of a history of complaints already filed before leadership, to be a deliberate attempt to discredit and disintegrate the party.”

“Should she not be stop from this persistent, ungierd but intentional comments the party could suffer a terrible reputational loss, disaffection among the doctorate, and worse a loss in voter margins.”

“The assertion by Anna Hormah Miezah is a subject of propaganda the NDC exploited but failed to prosecute at the court. We therefore see it to be a calculated attempt to revive this bogus claim of electoral manipulation, and in effect accord the NDC some frise credit in a case already dismissed by the court.”

“We also have seen sponsored publications by Arna Horma Miezah in the Anchor Newspaper, the Inquisitor and other online news portals where through a purported supporters’ group, she’d point accusing fingers against the Constituency Assistant Secretary, David Oscar Amoah, and the former Elections and Research Officer, Ebenezer Cudjoe over her leaked bit uncouth commentary. We find these attacks on our party executives unwarranted and an attempt to court enmity against these personalities, and drag the executive into factions.”

They said her notoriety in causing disaffection among party executives and sympathizers is a serious matter leadership must cure.

Also the very act being manifested in Essikado-Ketan is nothing but an imported conduct from Ellembele, which resulted in serious rifts in the party and an usual drop in voter margins for this HPP in the 2020 parliamentary elections.

They however cannot entertain Anna Hormah Miezah in Basikado-Ketan, let alone allow her to brow chaos in the party.

The petitioners therefore pray the following the party restrains Anna Hormah Miezals from any engagement in the constituency.

That she is not a registered voter nor has she ever voted in the Essikado-Ketan Constituency to even warrant she dabbles in our constituency politics.

Her desire to contest the parliamentary primaries is grossly incompetent and an affront to electorates recking a new representation in parliament as Hon. Joe Ghartey exits.

That Anna Hormah Miezah be caused to remot her claim, and in addition render an unqualified apology to the Member of Parliament, Joe Chartey, the party including agents and other assigns tasked to monitor the 2020 elections.
