The Former President and Ghana’s first president under the fourth republic, Jerry John Rawlings has died at age 73.
Report said the ex-president who buried his mother barely three weeks ago died at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital early Thursdays, November 12, 2020, of illness yet to be disclosed.
Information gathered by GhanaPlus.com said the ex-president took ill a few days after her mother, Madam Victoria Agbotui was laid to rest on October 25 and had since been on admission at the country’s premier hospital for about a week.
Tributes from all spheres of the country have begun pouring in honour of the charismatic leader who led the country from the year 1981 to 2001.
He was the founder of the current largest opposition political party in the country, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the first President of the country’s fourth republic.
