Gold Track SHS 2 students vacate from school today

Second-year Gold Track Senior High School Students who reported to school to complete their first-semester programme will return home today, July 31, 2020,

A joint statement from the Ghana Education Service and the Ghana Health Service said the students had successfully gone through their programmes and were due to go home.

The statement, however, disclosed that only students from schools who have not recorded any positive case of Covid-19 and those who recorded positive cases earlier but had not recorded any in two weeks can begin their vacation today.

Schools which has recorded cases in the last two weeks would be delayed for further assessment.

Any school that had a positive case with the last two weeks, all contacts within the Gold track will have their vacation delayed for assessment and observation before they can be allowed to go on vacation and parents of such students will be notified,” the statement said.

The GES and the GHS in the statement expressed profound gratitude to the country for the support since the reopening of schools.

We also want to express our profound gratitude to Government for its support, especially, H.E, the president for his resolve to see that the future of these children is not compromised by the outbreak of the coronavirus”.

They also expressed their heartfelt appreciation to their staff for staying true to their commitment towards the future of the children.

Management of the GES and the GHS wish to use the opportunity to thank and appreciate all staff of GES and GHS, management is hugely indebted to your commitment, dedication, and sacrifices in the interest of the students”.

Reopening of Schools

Gold Track second-year Senior High School (SHS) students were among those who were allowed to return to school on June 22, after about three months of closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The SHS 2 students were to spend six (6) weeks to prepare and complete their academic year before going on vacation.
