Guinea Coup: Alpha Conde’ deserves it – Twumasi Ntow

A political Analyst and a former Member of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Desmond Twumasi Ntow has waded into ongoing discussions about the overthrow of the President of Guinea, Alpha Condé.

Speaking on Good Morning Africa on Pan African Television on Monday, September 6,monitored by GhanaPlus.com, he said Mr Condé deserves what had happened to him.

According to him, although he does not support the coup in the country, the embattled president brought it upon himself since he had no business being in power at his age and also not given his citizens the listen ears.

“For me, I condemned the coup d’état in Guinea, but i also have to say that If you look at the way people were jubilating after the coup, that should tell you that people were really tired of the man and for me i ask myself at the age of 83, what more do you want? …….. But this is bad but he deserve it if he had listen to the people that he is leading and you see when you are leading your country you need to listen to them but if you don’t listen to them and  you decide to do otherwise some of these things will happen to you”.

“….once again the president deserves it, because he called for it, if he had listened and listen to the people in good faith, I don’t think this would have happened to him”, he said.
