Having sex before driving causes accident
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr Goerge Akuffo Dampare and some Police Management Board members are touring the Western Region, with support from the Regional Command.
From meeting people in Ghana’s creative industry in Accra, he has jetted into the Western Region for a two-day official visit to the region, with his first point of call being the Accra Station in Takoradi, where he has had a historic encounter with drivers in the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis.
Briefing the press on the visit, Supt Alexander Obeng, Head of Education, Research and Training at the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service, said, between January and October, 13, 244 road crashes were reported which involved 33,408 vehicles injuring 12,899 persons.

He said the number of roach crashes is so pathetic, unacceptable and so worrying to all of us.
However, when drivers were given the chance to share their opinion on road traffic management and how they can do their possible best to curb the situation, a driver indicated that, having sex before a long journey can lead to an accident.
According to him he is an experienced driver and has travelled enough to know the dos and don’ts before travelling as a driver which he noted that, sex is a no go area as a driver if you are about to embark on a long journey as it can easily lead you to make a mistake on your journey.
He said, “Through my years of experience, I have noticed having sex before embarking on a journey can make one very tired just halfway through the journey and can cause one to sleep while behind the wheel.”
“This I will advise my fellow colleague drivers to desist from having sex before embarking on a journey as it makes you weak and can lead to an accident,” he added.
However, even though there is no scientific data to back such claims, he used his years of experience in driving to prove his point according to what he has witnessed.
