Hundreds flock Sekondi Library Experiential Learning Masterclass to equip themselves with entrepreneurship knowledge
Hundreds of people have flocked to the ongoing Sekondi Library Experiential Learning Masterclass to equip themselves with entrepreneurship knowledge post the Coronavirus pandemic.

Participants in the experiential masterclass were equipped with basic knowledge of entrepreneurship, business plan development, management inputs and support systems and procedures.
The Executive Director of the Ghana Library Authority, Mr Hayford Siaw speaking to Skyy News on the sidelines of the program said the vision of the Authority is to connect Ghanaians to knowledge resources through books they provide to the public.

However, one of the areas they are trying to explore is how to bring resource people into the library space to transfer knowledge on specific subject matter that is of need in our current society
He said, “Over the past 72 years, everybody has gotten to know about the Ghana Library Authority through the static library services we provide, we have moved to the digital space where from the comfort of your home you can move to your app store and play store to download our app and read our books.”
“Currently if you look at Ghana, one of the areas of concern to the Ghanaian youth is in the area of employment, everybody wants to have a job and do, so the Ghana Library has taken it upon itself as part of the implementation of Youth Engagement Centre Project with the support of UNICEF, we are bringing top leaders into our various library spaces where we can share basic knowledge on entrepreneurship.”
Mr Philip Yaw Asamoah, the Western Regional Director of the Ghana Library Authority told Skyy News that the Coronavirus pandemic has rendered a lot of people unemployed and believes the digital space is one of the best platforms for people to create their own businesses.

He said, “We have invited a lot of people here to teach them and to also learn how they can take advantage of digital platforms such as social media to create business and earn money for themselves because the coronavirus pandemic has rendered a lot of people unemployed.”
Lawyer Samuel Nartey who was present at the event told Skyy News that entrepreneurship is one of the biggest drivers of the economy and as young people, what they have to understand is that entrepreneurship can be taught and to succeed, one will need the right environment that is why he is entreating the youth to take advantage of government programs such as YouStart to start their own businesses.
