I don’t support 18 club Division One league
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sekondi based club Hasaacas, Mr Samuel Paa Kwesi Arbuah, has expressed his disaffection about the decision by Ghana Football Association (GFA) to play 18 clubs National Division one league beginning 2022/2023 football season
The GFA in the 47th Congress informed the division clubs of the introduction of a new format to play Division One LEague. The top six clubs from each zone will come together to play National division one super league but did not go well with some clubs including Sekondi Hasaacas.
Mr Arbuah on Tuesday, November 16, in an interview with Skyy Power 93.5FM said the clubs are not financially stable to play such competition, moreover, the football economy does not support such competition ” I don’t support the 18 clubs Division 1 league with one reason, the football economy in this country do not help we (clubs) to play such competition.”
He also disclosed that the decision to demote over 10 clubs to 3rd tier football was wrong “how can you demote over 10 teams to 3rd tier football, it is wrong and I don’t support it”
The division one kick starts this weekend across with Hasaacas hosting Unistar Academy at Gyandu Park.
